Through on-site job training and coordination of services provided by the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities, 12-15 individuals with developmental disabilities were successfully employed in part-time positions during the first season at the Marietta City Harbor. These positions included janitorial work, grounds keeping, restocker of supplies, counter assistant, dock assistant and providing tourist information to the public.
The overall experience of leasing the Marietta City Harbor has been very rewarding over the past two seasons. Our community has publicly welcomed us and continually supports our efforts. In our first season, WASCO received an award for their rehabilitative services within the community and was nominated as Marietta's "Hometown Hero".
